Bret Hatley

This website is so Bret Hatley can stay up-to-date with his family.  His mother will not let Bret contact his father, grandparents and large extended family.  Bret was even not able to see his grandfather before he died.  Papa's last wish was to see Bret again. I know Bret is a savy internet user who will eventually find this page as he searches for a way to keep up with his family. Bret, you are loved and will be welcomed back with open arms.  If you see Bret in Tyler, Texas or Trinidad, Texas and please tell him his father, grandmother and entire extended family love him and want him to come home.

October 28th, 2024  This is a recent picture of Anma's house.  It is still as lovely as when you were going there.  She still lives there even after Papa died.  I know you regret not seeing Papa before he died.  Don't make the same mistake now.  Contact me and see everyone who loves you.  What could be so wrong with that?

Sunday, August 11th, 2024 - I thought you should know that I wrote your Mom about how we should put everything behind us and that a young man needs his father.  You should ask to see it.  Its time you reconnect and reclaim your past life.  It will just continue to bother you until you address it.  Wouldn't you like to enjoy playing a round of golf again like we used to?  I recently found your scorecard from your first full round.  You shot a 115 (better than my first round when I started).  You were so proud of yourself and you continued to get so much better.  Contact me and lets just play a round together.

Wednesday, July 10th, 2024 - Thought I would remind you of one fun Summer trip to Possum Kingdom Lake.  Ironically, my ranch is located not far from here.  Its pretty country and you would love it.  You are an adult now and its time to reclaim your life Bret.f

Thursday, May 2nd, 2024 - A new building went up on my ranch.  A 1700 square foot barn will house the farm tractor, Off road Polaris and meat processing cooler.  Also inside will be an air-conditioned overflow guest room, kitchen, entertainment room and full bathroom with shower.  You should come visit.  You can see for miles since the site is on a small mountain.

Sunday, March 31st, 2024 - Easter at Anma's house and all the bushes had flowers already.  Anma prepared a huge rack of lamb and Aunt Stephanie made lasagna.  It was wonderful.  You would have loved the conversation and great food.  You must really miss it now because your mother was never known for liking any family gatherings and I suspect your life is fairly isolated.  Bret, its time you act like a man and do not worry about the consequences with your mom - come see your family.

Monday December 25th, 2023 - We had our traditional Christmas dinner over at Anma's house.  You always loved talking politics and news with everyone at the table.  Don't you miss that Bret?  You were missed by everyone.  Brandon was in town (he lives in Venus Beach CA) but Trey and Michelle could not be there - they just had their second child.  It was a girl - the first girl born in the family in nearly 50 years.  Yes, we had lamb, mash potatoes, mushrooms, asparagas and home-made lasagna.  It was quite the feast.  Your mom always hated Christmas at Anma's house because she was always so competitive about her family versus mine - so silly.  This is your legacy and it has been taken away from you.  You have to miss it!

Saturday Sept 1st, 2023 - I take Anma to dinner every week.  Here we are eating sushi.  She misses you greatly Bret.  She is in great shape for 90 and you would not think a day has passed since you last saw her but you don't have forever to reconnect.  You will look back at your absence with deep regret if you do not do something about it now.  Contact me.

Saturday May 28th, 2023 - Took Anma to the my new ranch just outside Possum Kingdom Lake (I still own the house in Plano).  The ranch is beautiful and big enough to swallow several golf courses - its big.  You would love it and I own a Polaris Ranger for zipping around the property.  It drives just like those RZR's we drove in Arizona.  I will be building a weekend get-a-way there this year.  Its large parcel and sits over 120 feet above the farms below.  You should come see it.  The wildflowers are just amazing!

Saturday May 20th, 2023 - Paul Kipgen died today.  Paul and you used to have plenty of great talks through the years.  He always loved when you visited and he would often ask about you.  Paul retired from my company in February, but he had been fighting cancer for several years and after retirement the cancer just ran wild.  He was a man of substance and character.  I kept visiting Paul at home and the hospital every two weeks after he retired and I was so fortunate to call him a friend.  You need to cherish your friends and family before its too late Bret.  

Sunday March 12th, 2023 - Its official, I bought a ranch over by Possum Kingdom Lake.  Its 100 acres of beautiful ridges, hills and some of the prettiest views you can find in Texas.  You can see for 50 miles from the top of one hillside and it sit 100 feet over the valley below.  You should be a part of this Bret.  Why should you suffer?  Below is Anma and me and some ranch pictures.

January 5, 2023 - We had Anma's 90th birthday party.  You would not notice any difference from when you last saw her.  She is still amazingly sharp but she does miss you so much.  I image you miss her too - you both shared a lot of memories together.  Bret, now is the time you show that you are truly a man and reclaim your family and memories.  Every day, you lose precious moments.  Just get in your car and go see Anma. She lives in the same place.  You do not need your mom's permission.  She also wanted me to show a picture from one of your driving trips.  Love you Dad.

November 25, 2022 - Another Thanksgiving at Anma's house.  You always loved being involved in the conversation at the table.  Don't you miss it?  Your mother just never liked family get-togethers like Thanksgiving.  You are different.  You need to reclaim your life again Bret.  There are so many great things going on right now and I would love you to be a part of it.  I just got back from showing Anma the ranch I am buying.  Its beautiful and I know you would love being a part of developing it.  Use the "contact me" link on this page to get hold of me.  

October 9, 2022 - I was over at Anma's house and I found these (see picture).  These were some of your favorite toys.  You would spin them in a big circle and loved to watch the balls go "pop, pop, pop").  You played with these so much that you constantly broke them but I was always there to fix them (usually when you were sleeping).  I love you as much now as I did then.  I know that you graduated with your Refrigeration Degree from Tyler Junior College.  I hope you can eventually get your own place and you are not afraid to reconnect to your family.  Your cousin Aiden went through a similiar experience.  His mother too refused to let him see his Dad.  It left a an empty spot that bothered him until he eventually reunited.  Realize all that you are missing and email me using the contact page in this website.

July 9th, 2022 - Anma and I attended the L0ngo family reunion in Colorado.  These are all relatives of yours and I know you would have loved to meet them.  I spent one Summer with them when I was a teenager so it was great to see everyone again.  Bret, you are cheating yourself of friends and family.  Its time to be an adult and take back your life.  Contact me via the contact page.  Its never too late.

April 4th, 2022 - Easter dinner was a great event - it was only missing you Bret. Your newest cousin "Cade" was in attendance.  Late note: I am writing this entry later and I am aware that you graduated with your AAS Heating and Air Conditioning degree from TJC.  Congratulations!  I will always be proud of you.  I always knew that UTT was the wrong school for you and I was only fighting to save you from making a bad choice. March 6th, 2022 - I was having some minor ear issues and so I went to Dr, Rohn.  He asked how you are doing.  I told him you are working on your HVAC degree at TJC.  He wondered why you were going there since you told him that you were so excited about going to Austin College.  It made me sad to think about it.  I wish I could have talked to you "man to man" about your final college choice, but your mom never wanted that to happen.  I know its not your fault, but you are now old enough to be a man and finally talk to me about it.  Bret, stand up for your rights and contact me.  I miss you and so do so many people.  Reclaim your life!

February 2nd, 2022 - You remember Paul.  You and he had many conversations over the years.  Paul has cancer now and is going through chemotherapy.  He still works for me but we allow him a flexible schedule as he fights the cancer.  You should say hello to him - I know it would cheer him up greatly.  He asks about you all the time.  Email me (see contact page) and I can send you his contact info.

January 22nd, 2022 - Went over to Anma's to have dinner.  She misses you so much.  Bret, you have no reason to be angry with her.  You both spent so much time together.  Do wait until its too late.  Relationships like you two had are not easy to find.

December 25th, 2021 - We had Christmas at the Bonvinos outside. Due to Covid, Uncle Larry and Stephanie had to stay at home, but it was great to see Brandon.  Brandon is living in Venice Beach, CA and he loves it there.  He flew in to be with family for Christmas.  FYI - Trey and his wife Michelle did have their first child about a month ago, so you have a first cousin now.

November 25th, 2021 - Thanksgiving was at the Bonvino's house.  Trey and Michelle are expecting a boy in the next few months.  Anma is finally fully recovered from "West Nile Virus".  She caught it in September and spent 3 weeks in the hospital.  You should not wait to see her.

April 12th, 2021 - Easter at Anma's house.  The Bonvinos were out of town but we still got together.  I hope you took time to think about all the family events you got to experience.  You can still experience all the fun of family getting together. 
 

January 30th, 2021 - Seven friends and I flew into Arizona to play your favorite course - Troon North.  It was my 60th birthday party and I wish you were playing with me! Weather and course were just like when we were there.

December 25th, 2020 - Christmas was at Anma's house.  As usual we spent time at the dinner table talking for hours.  You always loved joining in the discussions about new events and relatives.  Papa always sat at the end of the table.  I feel so sad that you did not get to enjoy the wonderful day.

October 2nd, 2020 - Anma and I attended Trey and Michelle's wedding.  It was at an incredible place called Hummingbird Nest Ranch in California.  What a place!  Check out the wedding location at https://www.hummingbirdnestranch.com/ .  You would have loved it.  You are missing so much and your family misses you.

Due to the Coronavirus, the entire event was outdoors.
